November 8, 2011 — Have an idea for an out-of-this-world experiment? Submit it, and if you win, you and the rest of the world can actually see it performed onboard the International Space Station.
The YouTube Space Lab competition is open to students ages 14-18 and teams of up to three people. Two winning experiments will be conducted onboard the ISS and live streamed on YouTube.
The two winners will not only see their experiment conducted on board the orbiting outpost, but they will also receive a trip to see their experiment launch into space, or a one-of-a-kind astronaut training experience in Star City, Russia, once they turn 18.
In addition, six regional finalists will win a ZERO-G Experience.
But hurry as the deadline for submissions is December 7. All you need to do is upload a 2-minute video explaining your experiment to YouTube. Each entry must include four elements: experiment question, hypothesis, method, and results. Creating a prototype of the experiment is optional, but is encouraged as it may make the experiment idea easier for the judges to understand.

The winners will be announced in March 2012.
