EAA Young Eagles - Ask the Expert

Question :
How has the Lockheed Company influenced aviation history?
Answer :
The Lockheed Aircraft Company has produced a number of significant aircraft through the years. Designer Clarence “Kelly” Johnson was famous for the “Skunk Works” where engineers worked to develop many new and innovative designs. Some of Lockheed’s most famous aircraft include the P-38 “Lightning”, C-130 “Hercules”, F104 “Starfighter”, SR-71 “Blackbird” and the F-117 “Stealth Fighter.”
Lockheed aircraft also helped advance passenger aviation as well with the original Lockheed “Vega”, the Super Constellation and the famed L-1011.
