An interesting question.
The term "dive" could have several meanings in aviation, but if you consider a dive as losing altitude, the aircraft that made the largest dive would be the NASA Space Shuttle. When returing to earth, the Shuttle becomes a glider once it is in the atmosphere. Most experts list the beginning of space at about 60 miles up. So the Shuttles dive in from space from at least 60 miles and return to land.
